I, Serki Sherpa, president of YAMUNA CHILDRENS’ HOME would like to thank you so much to Heike Yamuna Kiefer from Germany and friends from Nepal who helped lot to establish Yamuna Childrens Home. I have spent 5 years in the education field. In the beginning, I volunteered in Great Compassion Boarding School for one year, 5 months in Pokhara and 5 months in Upper-Mustang, Lomanthang in 2010AD. After that I started working in school and in Childrens Home in Kathmandu till the date. Now I am in Yamuna Childrens Home to serve really needy kids and working as a teacher in Shwet Barahi School. I am very happy to stay with kids and it makes me happy when I get opportunities to serve the needy kids in the streets, in remote villages etc. I am also grown up in a Buddha Memorial Childrens Home. I stayed in the childrens home till I finished my Grade 12. I feel myself very fortunate to get opportuny to stay and study in the Childrens home because my family was not capable to send me to school with pencil, copy and books. Still now there isn’t any school in my village, Its pity.
YAMUNA CHILDRENS’ HOME is established to give service to the needy kids. Service includes Education, lodging, fooding and extra-curriculum activities for their physical as well as mental development. Yamuna Childrens’ home is always dedicated to provide mandatory service to needy kids. Nepal is the country where we can find villages without school. We can find the kids who hasn’t seen the school. The reasons are that because of financial status, political instability, geographical location, lack of education, lack of awareness etc. These factors are the features of civilization. So, Yamuna Childrens’ Home is here to support such kind of kids who are really in crisis of finance, education and other basic needs.
